In order to make active use of the archives of the Institute for the Study of Japanese Folk Culture(ISJFC) and the Research Center for Nonwritten Cultural Materials(RCNCM) and to develop their research further, with the aim of establishing an interdisciplinary, international joint research center, under the direction of the International Center for Folk Culture Studies Intramural Steering Committee we will promote joint research on a project basis by soliciting research topics, organize international academic exchanges and symposiums, publish historical materials and research results via our website, and make the databases held at the joint research center widely available to the general public.
